She is a consultant, blogger, and speaker for CompHealth and DairyMax, a national partner to the NFL and Fuel Up to Play 60 initiative, which promotes proper youth daily nutrition. Sloan currently serves on several Board of Trustees including, Black Women Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Institute of Spirituality and Health, RoweDocs Telemedicine, and Tristar Global Medical Inc. She has authored and published research projects in Orthopedic Surgery and a joint venture with NASA, Johnson Space Center. Sloan completed her residency at Baylor College of Medicine where she made history as both the first African-American female Intern in General Surgery and the first African-American female Orthopedic Surgery resident.
